Murcian co-operative Frucimu becomes a shareholder in Agriconsa

On July 28, the Frutas y Cítricos de Mula - Frucimu cooperative, based in Mula (Murcia), formally became a shareholder of Agricultura y Conservas SA - Agriconsa, a company based in Algemesí (Valencia) and dedicated to the processing of fruit for juice and preserves.

As a shareholder, Frucimu will be able to supply Agriconsa with around 1,700 tons of grapefruit per season. Frucimu is a specialist in grapefruit, a fruit with a growing demand.

The collaboration between the two companies started in the 2023-2024 season. Now, in 2025, Frucimu has formalized its entry into Agriconsa as a full partner.

Frucimu has been a member of the second-degree cooperative Anecoop for more than three decades. It currently has 700 producing partners, more than 2,600 hectares cultivated, and produces between 60,000 and 65,000 tons of fruit annually. With a turnover of around 60 million euros, it provides permanent employment throughout the year to more than 600 people and more than 1,000 people in the region during the season. The cooperative also specializes in the cultivation of organic fruit and has modern facilities that were put into operation at the end of 2021.

Miguel Ángel Navarro, the president of Frucimu, who is also vice-president of Anecoop, praised this operation "for the advantages of this alliance, which makes the two entities stronger with the union of capacities. Frucimu provides the product, expanding Agriconsa's portfolio, and Agriconsa provides the markets and clients that this product needs."

Agriconsa (Agricultura y Conservas, S.A.) is made up of 47 farmers' cooperatives, many of them members of Anecoop. The company, dedicated to the processing of fruit for juice and preserves, is adding this new commercial ally, which is essential given the increase in demand for grapefruit destined for industrial production.
"The synergies of the agreement between the two entities have a very positive impact on both the environment and the grower partners, offering alternatives to produce that do not meet the aesthetic requirements for fresh sales," stated Alejandro Monzón, the President of Agriconsa and Anecoop.
