EU Banana wholesale prices week 28:

Banana prices drop 17% in Spain, rise 8% in Slovakia

In the week ending 13 July 2025 (week 28), average wholesale prices for ACP bananas (€/100kg) saw notable changes in several European countries compared to the previous week (week 27, ending 6 July 2025), according to the latest market data.

Spain (ES) experienced a sharp drop in prices, falling from €143/100kg in week 27 to €118/100kg in week 28—a decrease of €25.

France (FR) recorded a marginal decline, with prices moving from €109/100kg to €108/100kg, a slight reduction of €1 week-on-week.

Ireland (IE) also saw a significant price decrease, from €128/100kg in week 27 to €119/100kg in week 28, representing a €9 drop.

In contrast, Slovakia (SK) was the only one among the selected countries to show a price increase. Banana prices rose from €106/100kg to €115/100kg, an increase of €9 compared to the previous week.

These movements reflect varying trends in banana pricing across the EU, with Spain and Ireland showing steep declines, France a small adjustment, and Slovakia experiencing a moderate rise.
