Orange prices in March, April, and May of the 2024/2025 season (as shown by the red line) have shown a general upward trend in Spain, Greece, Italy, and Portugal, according to data reported by Member States.
In Spain, prices rose steadily from €84/100kg in March to €90 in April and €93 in May. This marks a continued recovery in the Spanish market following earlier seasonal lows, bringing prices well above the five-year average during this period. Spain's figures remain within the upper end of the five-year price range.
Greece saw the most significant month-on-month increases among the four countries. Prices jumped from €53/100kg in March to €72 in April, and further to €82 in May. This sharp rebound follows lower-than-average values during the winter months, bringing prices closer to seasonal highs seen in previous years.
In Italy, prices remained the highest among the countries examined, starting at €129/100kg in March, climbing to €137 in April, and reaching €145 in May. The steady increase reflects strong market conditions, with figures staying well above both last season's values and the five-year average.
Portugal also experienced a fluctuating trend, starting at €76/100kg in March, dipping to €65 in April, then rebounding sharply to €83 in May. While April showed a temporary drop, the May figure brought prices back to levels seen earlier in the season, aligning closely with the previous year's values for the same month.
