Ukraine has launched a new grant program to help food and agricultural processing enterprises recover from damage caused by Russian attacks. Under the updated state grant initiative, eligible businesses can receive up to ₴16 million (approx. $400,000), with the government covering up to 80% of costs.
The grants are available to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (including individual entrepreneurs) in the processing industry. To qualify, applicants must provide official documentation to prove war-related damage.
Key conditions include:
- Funds must be used for purchasing and installing new equipment.
- Businesses must create at least 5 new jobs.
- The grant must be repaid through taxes and social contributions within 3 years (at least 20% from the new jobs).
Additional program updates:
- Businesses can reapply if they previously received a grant and fulfilled all obligations.
- Grants are now also available for R&D and non-material assets.
- Projects using only Ukrainian-made equipment benefit from better co-financing terms: 70% grant / 30% own contribution.
- Producers of perennial crops can receive grants for post-harvest processing equipment.
Applications are submitted through the government's online platform Diia. Priority is given to businesses in frontline regions.
