The cost of Iranian fruit in Russia has increased by 25%, driven by political tensions and logistical disruptions in the Middle East, according to SHOT.
Importers report significant delays and rising expenses tied to reduced driver availability, unstable communication lines, and the need to reroute shipments. Delivery times have increased from 7 days to 3 weeks.
Transport costs for a single truckload have increased from 300,000 to 500,000 rubles (approx. €3,200 to €5,300), primarily due to driver shortages and security risks.
Price increases by product:
- Cherries and sweet cherries: +25%
- Iceberg lettuce: +15%
- Celery: +15%
- Apricots: +15%
Importers expect continued price pressure as logistical challenges persist.
