The Comptoir Rhodanien group (Drôme) has announced the acquisition of Fruits 2000 (Ardèche), which specializes in the packaging and dispatch of fruit, such as cherries, apricots, chestnuts, walnuts, and kiwis, to specialist wholesalers and major European retailers. With this acquisition, Comptoir Rhodanien will strengthen its kiwi and apricot range and gain an additional packaging site.

Comptoir Rhodanien is pursuing its external growth strategy, supported by its pool of investors (Turenne Group, Siparex Midcap, Crédit Agricole, and BNP Paribas Développement).

Based in the Ardèche region of France, Fruits 2000 ships almost 4,000 tons of fruit every year and holds a number of labels and certifications (HACCP, Global GAP, FeL Partenariat, Ecoresponsible Orchards...).
"The acquisition of Fruits 2000 brings recognized expertise to the group in the shipping business, as well as a new range of kiwis and an additional packaging site. This transaction will enable both companies to take full advantage of their strong synergies," explains Christophe Soulhiard, chairman of the group's strategic committee.
"This project also involves Alban and Stéphane Faure (sons of the founders) in the continued development of Fruits 2000. They will add to the young talent within the Comptoir Rhodanien group, contributing to its continued growth. We share the same business culture and the same values, and the integration of Fruits 2000 and its young managers into our group will be a smooth and natural process," explains Daniel Gaillard, chairman of Comptoir Rhodanien.
