It is currently apricot season in Xinjiang, China. Among the different varieties, the harvest of Xiaobai Apricots has concluded, Mango Apricots are in peak season, and the Diaogan Apricot season has just begun.
"The Mango Apricot has been cultivated in Xinjiang since early times and is also referred to as the Huanna Apricot. It has only entered the mass market in the past two years, and its price is now comparable to the other two varieties. Market feedback on Mango Apricots has been very positive, especially in e-commerce sales. This year, our company's Mango Apricot sales have doubled compared to last year, and we plan to promote them more aggressively next year," said Ms. Wang Jinggai from the Aksu Xinjiang Forest Agricultural Cooperative.

Mango Apricot
"The Mango Apricot is characterized by its large size, high moisture content, and strong flavor. Its skin is yellow with red flesh inside. The weight of a single fruit typically exceeds 30 grams, with larger ones reaching up to 50 grams. This variety is not classified as a high-sugar apricot but is prized for its rich flavor and sweet taste."

"Due to the sandstorm in April, the taste and flavor of apricots this year are not as good as in previous years. Yields have slightly decreased, though appearance remains largely unaffected. The prolonged sandstorm, which lasted over half a month, has also impacted the production of other fruits in Xinjiang, such as apples and plums—especially the Weidi Plum, which is expected to see the largest decline."

Diaogan Apricot
The Diaogan Apricot is another seasonal variety. Known for its long harvest window, storability, and high sweetness, it is very popular in the market. As a result, it has attracted significant attention from fruit growers and traders, and its planting area continues to expand. "The harvest of Diaogan Apricots begins on June 10, and the sales season can extend to the end of August. Its main characteristic is its high sweetness, which can exceed 25 degrees Brix," a grower explained.
"Also impacted by the weather, the size of Diaogan Apricots this year is unusually uniform. Each fruit weighs between 13 and 18 grams, with a low proportion of unusually large or small fruits. However, the market typically favors larger fruits weighing more than 18 grams."

Diaogan Apricot
"The price of Diaogan Apricots is highest at the beginning of the season, with the price at origin around ¥23/kg (US$0.16/kg). As the season progresses, prices gradually decrease. Compared to the same period last year, current demand is relatively low, with many traders taking a wait-and-see approach, hoping to purchase after prices drop."
Jianglinyuan primarily sells a wide variety of fruits originating from Xinjiang, including apricots, plums, apples, pluots, and Hami melons. Its distribution channels include live-streaming platforms, e-commerce, community group buying, and wholesale markets.
