Growers, advisors, and agricultural professionals from across Europe are set to gather on June 14 in Hornigi, near Warka in Poland's Mazowieckie Province, for the final event of the 2025 Strawberry Inspirations project. The event, hosted by strawberry producers Mateusz and Magdalena Włodarczyk, will highlight modern approaches to strawberry cultivation and offer insights into new technologies, genetics, and production systems.

Variety showcase under commercial conditions
A central feature of the event is a 1-hectare demonstration field containing 30 strawberry varieties sourced from both domestic and international nurseries. Organizers note that this is one of the largest multi-varietal commercial production trials in Europe, allowing visitors to assess differences in plant vigor, yield, fruit quality, and taste under real production conditions. Taste tests and discussions with growers and nursery representatives are scheduled throughout the day.

Practical demonstrations and cultivation techniques
A series of live workshops will guide attendees through the steps of establishing strawberry plantations on elevated beds. These demonstrations will include soil preparation, bed shaping, installation of drip irrigation systems, application of mulching materials, and transplanting. Mulching technologies presented during the event will include both biodegradable and long-lasting options, provided by technical partners Agrimpex and Geo-Polska.

Evaluation of planting materials
Participants will also observe a newly planted trial block established in May 2025, featuring two types of strawberry planting materials: multi-crown plants and tray-grown (potted) plants. The aim is to produce fruit within the same season, allowing for a timely comparison of plant performance and yield potential.
Fertilization and crop protection insights
The event will include a session on fertilization and plant protection strategies, delivered by experts from UPL Polska and Yara Poland. Presentations will summarize seasonal challenges and offer targeted solutions for improving productivity and managing disease pressure in strawberries.

Focus on innovation and knowledge exchange
The Strawberry Inspirations finale serves as a platform for sharing practical knowledge and exploring innovations in strawberry production. Polish growers, facing ongoing climate and market challenges, continue to implement new practices in pursuit of improved efficiency and fruit quality. The event is expected to facilitate exchange between producers and specialists, contributing to broader regional developments in the sector.
