While the German indoor onion season has been underway for some time, the outdoor carrot season has now begun at AGF-Online. "Fine, long stems with a glossy green appearance," notes Angelique van der Meij. "Today, the spring onions are fully grown and will arrive in Barendrecht on Friday."

AGF-Online first sourced spring onions and carrots from Germany in 2003 and remains consistently positive about the quality of German produce. "Our products from the Palatinate region are excellent in taste. From sowing to harvesting, packaging, and transport, everything is managed in-house," says Angelique.

The Barendrecht-based company has also started harvesting kohlrabi in Germany. "The quality is outstanding, with thick, solid bulbs. We offer a wide range of packaging options, from plastic and wood to boxes or direct container loading. Kohlrabi is also available loose by the kilogram, but we don't keep those in stock, so they must be ordered a day in advance."
