A wide range of early potatoes was available. In addition to Italian and Cypriot supplies, a small quantity of Moroccan imports was also available. According to the BLE, sales were steady, but a certain degree of customer saturation was evident after the Easter holidays. Prices did not change significantly, but showed a downward trend in some cases. Customers also found a wide range of ware potatoes on offer. Demand was steady and, apart from slight fluctuations, prices remained unchanged.

North Rhine-Westphalia:
The table potato market is characterized by the shift in supply in food retail from older storage potatoes to early potato imports from the Mediterranean region. There are a few changes in the industrial potato market. The relevant spot prices remain under pressure.
Schleswig-Holstein:
As expected, demand for table potatoes declined slightly after Easter. In some cases, sales fell short of expectations despite promotional campaigns by food retailers. Additional pressure is coming from the large supply of imported early potatoes. There is therefore no scope for price increases at present, even though storage costs and sorting losses are rising as storage times increase. Overall, however, supply and demand are balanced, so falling prices are also unlikely. Due to the continuing good weather conditions, planting is entering the final stages in this country. Most farms have already completed planting. Prices on the futures market continued to fall significantly. Prices are being weighed down by a very high supply of processing goods from Germany and abroad.
Lower Saxony:
Planting was in full swing and is now in the final stages. According to the BVNON, potatoes were mainly sourced from cold storage.
Thuringia:
"Thanks to good, mostly dry field conditions, planting progressed well and around 70 percent of the potatoes are already in the ground," according to the Karland company. The reduction of stocks and the distribution of old produce are also in the final stages. "We will be able to connect to the new early potato harvest in the second half of June again this year."
