The price of exotic fruits in Kazakhstan mostly depends on the country of origin, the season, taste quality, and fruit size, according to Kazinform.

Sellers note that the main suppliers are China, Peru, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Brazil, Thailand, Colombia, Côte d'Ivoire, Mexico, and Turkey. The availability of a particular exotic fruit in stores largely depends on demand. If Kazakhstani consumers don't buy a certain fruit, entrepreneurs won't import it.

In general, exotic fruits are more affordable in cities like Kostanay and Karaganda, while prices tend to be higher in Shymkent.

Here's how much popular exotic fruits currently cost on the local market:

  • Mango: Available in red and yellow varieties, mangoes are sold at prices ranging from €1.04 to €6.12.
  • Pomelo: This citrus fruit, whether yellow or pink, costs between €2.00 and €6.94.
  • Pineapple: Whole pineapples are priced from €2.03 to €6.84. Peeled versions are sold by weight, averaging around €3.40/kg.
  • Avocado: Sold individually or in packs, a single avocado ranges in price from €1.12 to €4.07.
  • Pitahaya (Dragon Fruit): This visually striking fruit costs between €1.63 and €5.10.
  • Coconut: Available at prices ranging from €0.84 to €8.78, depending on size and packaging.
