Loris Gentile of the cooperative Gentile Group in Italy:

"We handle two to three thousand berry packages per day"

Five years after the founding of the cooperative Gentile Group, founder Loris Gentile (pictured below) takes stock of the company's journey: "We have made many sacrifices, but the successes are just as many and have not come slowly, thanks to our tenacity and work ethic. When we started our raspberry project in 2020, we were selling a few hundred packages a week. Today, we move an average of 2,000 to 3,000 packages of berries daily, including raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, with an additional 5,000 packages of strawberries per day during peak production seasons."

The Gentile Group has no intention of slowing down. "It's a dream come true," says the manager. "Today, we are the reference company in central and southern Italy in terms of volume and quality of products supplied. We are also the only company in southern Italy that can guarantee a 12-month supply of all four main berry varieties: Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and currants. Not only do we guarantee a high-quality product, but we also ensure that it is available all year round. Imported blueberries from Peru, Chile, and Morocco, along with Mexican blackberries and Chilean currants, allow us to offer quality fruit throughout the year."

The Candy® line: a quantum leap
One of the major milestones for the company this year was the development of the premium Candy line. This line is dedicated to plant-based products. "An unprecedented concept of differentiation in Italy that will help us move forward in the market. We look to the future with ambition and innovation, always maintaining high quality and customer focus. Our goal is to continue growing. We want to expand our offer and consolidate our position as a leader in the small fruit sector."
