Huelva has emerged as Andalusia's second-largest exporting province in the initial five months, registering €3.650 million in sales, marking a 2.7% uptick primarily fuelled by enhanced fuel sales alongside a surge in fruit exports, accounting for 20.2% of Andalusia's total sales. Fruit exports, spearheaded by red fruits, dominated the sales chart with €1.164 million, witnessing a 12.1% increase and constituting 32% of the province's total sales, with red fruits alone achieving a historic sales milestone of €1.025 million, up by 11.7%. Following fruits, fuels and mineral oils recorded €899 million in sales, a 15.2% increase, whereas slag and ash minerals saw a 20.5% decline with €405 million in sales.
Geographically, Huelva's export footprint spans four continents, with France, Italy, and Germany being the top markets. France led with €386 million, up by 85%, followed by Italy with €381 million, despite a 16.6% decrease, and Germany with €372 million, marking a 19.8% increase.
Lucía Núñez, the territorial delegate, underscored Huelva's growth trajectory, crediting the significant role of red fruit exports in this achievement. Andalusia TRADE's relentless support through sector-specific programming played a crucial role in bolstering Huelva's export sector, facilitating 403 actions in 2023 to aid the province's exporters in tapping into key global markets.
