Gosia van Jole-Mikolajek, Fruitwave:

"Polish green asparagus very interesting in terms of price"

At Fruitwave, the season for Polish green asparagus is underway. "We work directly with a Polish asparagus grower. Price-wise, it's much more interesting for us to work with Polish asparagus. Green asparagus is normally always very expensive, but because we can deliver at a good price level, the demand is very good," explains Gosia van Jole-Mikolajek.

"We see that Polish growers have been farming and packaging at a professional level in recent years. They are in no way inferior when compared to all countries and have all the certificates to ensure food safety. Moreover, Polish growers are willing to offer products according to the customer's specifications and the quality standards of European retail," Gosia continues.

The season for Polish green asparagus runs, depending on the weather conditions, from the beginning of May to the end of June. "We mainly sell the asparagus on the Western European market, ranging from retail, service providers, and wholesale customers. In addition to green asparagus, we also sell other Polish vegetables from growers with whom we have a good partnership," concludes Gosia.
