Georgia: Adjaran mandarin export for bringing festive delight

As the New Year approaches, Adjaran farmers are diligently preparing to spread holiday cheer across the Commonwealth countries with an impressive harvest of 55,000 tons of aromatic mandarins.

Export shipments of Adjaran mandarins have already reached Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, with plans to initiate exports to Israel and Japan this year. Strict export criteria dictate that the fruits must be free from defects such as punctures, scratches, or dark spots. Fruit selection adheres to the golden standard established during the Soviet era, emphasizing manual curation.

Considering climatic conditions, processing and transportation prioritize the maintenance of optimal conditions. Fruits are transported in refrigerated containers at temperatures not below two degrees Celsius, ensuring air circulation to preserve freshness.
