Peruvian blueberries through Miami, Philadelphia, and New York ports expected to remain the same

Seasonal changes have led to a shift in the commodities of interest for this report. Blueberries have replaced asparagus, as the number of growing areas for shipping blueberries continues to grow while demand for asparagus is traditionally light in late summer. This list will be revisited regularly to maintain an accurate representation of the current trade situation affecting shippers of perishable commodities in North America.

Peru's imports of blueberries in 2023 crop through Miami, Philadelphia, and New York ports of entry are expected to remain about the same. Trading is fairly active. Prices lower. Flats 12 1‐pint cups with lids large 47.00‐55.00. Movement is via boat. Warmer weather continues to limit Peruvian imports. The movement of blueberries through Arizona, California, and Texas is expected to increase slightly. Trading is very active. Prices are generally unchanged. Flats 12 6‐ounce cups with lids mostly 35.00‐36.00. Spot market sales remain especially scarce—quality is variable.

The movement of avocado 2023 crop crossings from Mexico through Texas is expected to be about the same. Trading 70s and 84s fairly slow, others moderate. Prices 60‐84s are slightly lower, others generally unchanged. Cartons 2‐layer Hass 40s mostly 44.25‐45.25, 48s mostly 38.25‐40.25, 60s mostly 30.25, 70s mostly 18.25‐20.25 and 84s mostly 16.25‐18.25.
