Peru's blueberry exports have decreased by 50% so far this season

According to information from Fresh Fruit, so far this season, Peru's blueberry exports have contracted by 50% over the same date last year, totaling 40,527 tons.

"There have been no good results in this fresh blueberry season. In a normal cycle, shipments should have experienced a significant increase a couple of weeks ago, but this still hasn't happened," the Peruvian consultant stated.

"In week 36, the product reached 27 destinations, three of which accounted for 88% of all exports. These were the United States, with a 53% share, the Netherlands with a 24% share, and China, with a 10% share."

"Peru exported 3,513 tons to the US, i.e. 64% less than in the same week of last year. The Netherlands purchased 1,623 tons; that is, 66% less than in the same week of 2022."

"Finally, exports to China totaled 684 tons, 41% less than in the same week of last year."
