Almost Chinese Nashi pear season at Yex

"Retailers and wholesale clients again awaiting this niche product"

The new Chinese pear season is about to get started at Yex in the Netherlands. "After some hectic years with very high freight rates from China, the situation seems to have normalized somewhat again. Those rates are back to the 'old' level, making retailer and consumer prices slightly friendlier," Sourcing Manager Robbert van Essen expects.

"The first containers will arrive this week. By the end of the week, various retailers will, once again, have this niche product on their shelves. Wholesale customers, too, are again awaiting this product. Several standard packages are coming in, and we work with 3-5-7-9-10 kg boxes. So there's something for every client or shopper from which to choose."

"These pears should taste excellent this year. That's because the quite dry preseason means they have a relatively higher sugar content than last year. Our specialist Xian was in China just a few weeks ago for the final preparations for both pears and pomelos, so we're all set for a great season," Robbert concludes.
