In 2022, blueberry consumption per capita reached 1.83 kg in Poland. Thus, the Polish consumption of blueberries is on the similar level as the consumption of this fruit in the United States. At the same time, domestic production is growing dynamically. Poland is the largest producer of dessert blueberries in Europe. The development of the blueberry market in Poland is one of the best examples of the last decade worldwide.
With exports only 6.7% higher than imports, all trends indicate that Poland is on track to become both a net importer of blueberries and a significant producer. According to agroberichtenbuitenland.nl, it distinguishes Poland on the world stage as one of the most successful stories of developing the blueberry consumption market.

Only the last year, production has increased by 25%. This is the highest percentage increase in production in the world. Only Morocco – 22%, Peru – 17%, South Africa – 17% and China – 16% are developing similarly fast.
