Summer is well underway in the Netherlands so time for well-known red fruit like strawberries and cherries. But apples are available in the summer too. "These are true seasonal products only available for a short time because of their storability. Yellow Transparent apples are a first this year and officially kick off the new top fruit season," says the Fruitmasters team. These apples are available at the Dutch company's wholesale outlet.

Yellow Transparent
"Yellow Transparent apples are a lovely green/light yellow color. Their flesh is coarsely textured and they're very juicy. Yellow Transparent are tart and can be eaten as such or used in applesauce. These old summer variety apples can be harvested from mid-July to early August. This year the first Yellow Transparent apples came from grower Jan de Keijzer. He cultivates other 'old' apple varieties, too, to preserve these apples. Hanos Horeca Groothandel bought these first Yellow Transparent," conclude the team.
