"Last month, Peruvian lemon exports were not as favorable as expected"

According to Fresh Fruit, so far this year Peru has exported 21,537 tons of fresh lemon, i.e. 22% more than last season. However "last month's exports of this product were not as favorable as expected." In fact, “last week was one of the worst weeks for fresh lemon, as the country only exported 193 tons, i.e. 63% less than in the same week of last year and 38% less than in the previous week.”

In this same week, shipments of the product only reached 3 destinations: the Netherlands, with a 59% share (114 tons), which is 52% less than in the previous week and 33% less than in the same week last year; Spain, with a 28% share (54 tons), i.e. 18 times more than in the previous week; and the United Kingdom, with a 13% share (25 tons), which is 46% less than in the previous week and 68% less than in the same week of 2022. It should be noted that the United States, which so far has accounted for more than 50% of all shipments, did not receive any shipments this week,” Fresh Fruit stated.
