Carapaz RZ: labor-friendly and PM-resistant cucumber variety

In the video, Martin de Hoog from Greenhouse Sisters sums up the benefits of Rijk Zwaan’s cucumber variety, Carapaz RZ: “The advantage of Carapaz is simply that the variety is the same as the regular varieties in all respects, but also has HR resistance against powdery mildew. Besides this, the variety is also labor-friendly. We are now growing this variety throughout the entire company.”

Partnership with Greenhouse Sisters
Rijk Zwaan highly values partnerships. Its long-standing trust-based relationships with growers enable Rijk Zwaan to not only dream about the future together with them but also to dare to make decisions. This is what has led to the development of strong varieties. Martin de Hoog adds: “To me, shared entrepreneurship means that you’re on a shared journey of new varieties aimed at the future. By working together, you get access to results and gain insight, which is why we are quite often one of the first to switch to a new variety.”
