CBP Officers in Calexico detect over $5 million worth of methamphetamine in shipment of radishes

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers have seized another narcotic shipment concealed within pallets of radishes at the Calexico Port of Entry.

On January 31, CBP officers encountered a driver of a tractor trailer, with another shipment manifested for radishes. During initial inspection, a CBP officer referred the driver and tractor trailer for further examination. During the inspection, CBP officers discovered and extracted a total of 1,590 packages concealed within the shipment of radishes. The narcotics were identified as methamphetamine with an approximate weight of 4,563 pounds, and an estimated street value of $5,475,600.
