UK grower, importer and deliverer, FerryFast Produce have nearly a year-round supply of Cavolo Nero, the last 12 months has seen challenging growing conditions through the UK.
Dan Byrd, the company's sales director, said, "We had a drought back in the summer, but fortunately we have good irrigation so there were no serious concerns. November was then wet but nothing too severe, we are also just through a couple of cold weeks, but this has not affected our crops and availability remains good on Cavolo Nero.”
FerryFast supply the catering and wholesale trades across the UK, Dan is optimistic that the traditional January health kick trend will lead to an increase in demand and is hopeful that the catering trade will not see a decline after the Christmas period due to the cost-of-living increases.
