Mr Claudio Martignangi passed away a few days ago on December 8th. He founded the Martignani company in Sant'Agata sul Santerno (Ravenna) in 1958, which exported sprayers to 5 continents.
He was the first to introduce the low-volume technology to Italy and to research electrostatic charges to avoid drifting. He even thought about what we now call Zero Residue already in the 1980s.

In the book published to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary (2018), he wrote: "I was the first in Italy to introduce the low-volume anti-parasite technique. I managed to understand its advantages: cost savings for producers, harvests with no residue, lower air and soil pollution."
"I inherited the passion for innovation from my father (born in 1903, while Claudio Martignani was born in 1925) and what makes me happy today is my son (Stefano), who has already exceeded my managerial abilities."
"I consider myself a lucky man who managed to embark on a rough road, which though led to great satisfaction. It is a road that started a long way away."
