Partnership Med’Essor-Gifruits and PAMPAT (pavillon E3, November 18th)

France: the Tunisian pomegranate in the spotlight at Rungis

After the Maltese orange in January 2022, it is now the turn of the Tunisian pomegranate to shine at Rungis. This year, Med’Essor renews the experience in order to promote the pomegranate of Tunisia, at the E3 pavillon on the 18th of November, in partnership with Gifruits (Interprofessional Group for Tunisian fruit) and PAMPAT (Project for access to agri-food and local food markets). Chefs will be present for the occasion to cook the pomegranate in all its forms, in sweet and salty dishes. Starters, main courses, desserts…a morning full of tastings.

The campaign of the Tunisian pomegranate started around the 25th of October and will continue until mid-December. For the moment, the demand is stable but sales could accelerate with the arrival of the cold weather and the end of the school holidays.

Very positive feedback for the Maltese orange
“We have received a lot of positive feedback following the event organized earlier this year for the Maltese orange in collaboration with Gifruits. We therefore decided to renew the experience this year for the pomegranate,” explains Mourad Ben Salem, manager of Med’Essor and co-organizer of the event. The event should once again bring quite a crowd of visitors. “Many people came for the occasion, especially producers, suppliers, clients and even the managers of the Rungis market.”
