Domestically cultivated organic vegetables will again play an important role at BioFach in Nuremberg this year. Similar to other years, producer organization Mecklenburger Ernte (EO ME) from Gallin will present itself, along with marketer Behr from Seevetal, at the joint stand of the Marketinggesellschaft der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (AMV). Currently, Mecklenburger Ernte brings together 22 vegetable and 5 fruit growers. Six of these are organic. Organic has been the focus of the producer organization for years.
Shareholders in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have been growing organic vegetables since 1998. "From an initial 15 hectares, we have been able to expand organic vegetable cultivation to approximately 600 hectares right now," says Klaus-Dieter Wilke, managing director of EO ME. Some of the specialized growers have decades of experience in certified organic cultivation. Naturally sustainable: All EO ME growers practice agriculture in harmony with nature out of conviction. This includes a wide range of environmental protection measures, because top quality products can only be produced and marketed in harmony with nature.
Mecklenburger Ernte and its contract marketer BEHR AG will be presenting together at BIOFACH 2022. Christine Behr: "We are looking forward to personal contact with customers and partners and to presenting the variety of organic vegetables grown outdoors."
