ALDI SÜD reinforces commitment to regionality and seasonality

"For the first time, green asparagus from German soil exclusively"

ALDI SÜD is reinforcing its commitment to regional and seasonal products by offering green asparagus, sourced exclusively from Germany for the first time during this year's German asparagus season. This decision reflects the company's effort not only to delight customers with freshness and quality, but also to handle resources responsibly.

Simon Schumacher from the Association of South German Asparagus and Strawberry Farmers (VSSE) welcomes the move: "It is an appreciation of our work and the commitment with which we provide quality products for consumers. ALDI SÜD is giving a clear signal for regionalism and significantly contributes to raising awareness of the benefits of our local products." In addition to green asparagus from German cultivation, ALDI SÜD also offers only local white and violet asparagus during the local asparagus season. Every day, around 2,000 ALDI SÜD stores are supplied with fresh fruits and vegetables.
