The instinct to protect nature has always been at the heart of the work of Serroplast, an Italian company specialized in the production and installation of plastic sheeting for agriculture and horticulture.

After years of research in this direction, there are many projects in which Serroplast shows great attention to the environment, both in the planning phase and in the implementation stage. In addition to the birth of a new range of products called Ecolight, with a revolutionary and sustainable plastic film, there have been several changes in order to protect nature, ecosystems and people.

Firstly, the recent formulations of the materials used guarantee the absence of heavy metals in plastic films. This not only makes it easier for the operators who produce the raw materials, upstream in the production chain, but also protects the fruit and the plant from contact and contamination with potentially harmful materials.
Their research and development choices are also aimed at eliminating unnecessary waste. Ecolight products, for example, guarantee a 4-year service life, with only 1,500 kg of plastic per hectare covered and are entirely recyclable. For every kilogram of grapes produced, only an estimated 9 grams of plastic film is used.

The optical characteristics of the plastic film also guarantee clear improvements in terms of water supply and about 20% of water can be saved for irrigation, thanks to materials designed to generate a favorable microclimate inside the greenhouse, thus eliminating high temperature peaks.

Together with a proper agronomic management of the land, this contributes to an increase of the productivity of the vineyards by 10%, with a decrease in both costs and materials.
Serroplast firmly believes that only by continuing to protect nature it is possible to live a fulfilled and satisfying life, made up of well-being and balance.
