The General Assembly of the VOG Products producer organization approved the balance sheet for the 2020/2021 fiscal year on October 28. Sales reached 102.5 million euros; the disbursement volume to member cooperatives amounts to about 40 million euros. Management is positive about the new fiscal year, says Raiffeisenverband Südtirol. Johannes Runggaldier, VOG Products chairman
VOG Products chairman Johannes Runggaldier was able to point to a good 2020/2021 business year. VOG Products achieved a turnover of 102.5 million euros in the past fiscal year (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2021), whereby the delivered quantities of raw materials were lower than in the previous year. The positive result led to an attractive payout price to member cooperatives: A total of about 40 million euros was paid out to member cooperatives (owned by 18 South Tyrolean fruit cooperatives and four producer organizations from South Tyrol and Trentino) for the past fiscal year. The company coped well with the difficult Corona challenges.
Runggaldier reported on the most important investments made in the past business year: a new receiving station and belt press mean that even higher-quality premium juices can now be produced.
"We have had a good fiscal year and expect 2021/2022 to be a good year as well, with rising international prices for energy and raw materials posing a challenge. Volumes will be roughly the same as in the past fiscal year. Our goal is to further deepen the degree of processing of our products in order to sustainably increase the added value for our members, or rather the approximately 9,800 producers or family farmers behind them in South Tyrol and Trentino," Runggaldier said.
During the ordinary and extraordinary plenary meeting, the balance sheets showed a good 2020/2021 business year.
Director Christoph Tappeiner reported on the trends in the markets: In the B2B sector, the company will offer more special products and solutions for the international food industry. In the B2C sector, Tappeiner presented new products such as apple cider vinegar or apple chips to the General Assembly.
VOG Products, based in Laives, is owned by 18 South Tyrolean fruit cooperatives and four producer organizations from South Tyrol and Trentino. The company processes about 300,000 tons of fruit from integrated and organic cultivation annually into apple juice (concentrate and direct juice), purees and finished products. VOG Products has an export quota of about 90 percent and exports to about 50 countries worldwide.
