The Ivory Coast's mango season began last weekend. "The first boats will leave West Africa this and the coming weekend. They'll arrive in Europe in week 16-17," says Christiaan van Ravenswaaij of S.C. van Ravenswaaij in the Netherlands.
"Our three permanent suppliers started well and can meet our volume demands. But, there are currently many pirates on the coast. That's because the mango market is so good."
"Latif Fofana, our quality inspector, is in place every year. That's to ensure quality and numbers," says the importer. "He's involved in the whole process, from the tree in Africa to the store in Europe. Our suppliers and Latif form a perfect combination. We always get up-to-date information."
"Ouattara trading, Ivoire Agreag, and Cofruibo are our regular suppliers. They're once again going to spoil shoppers with the tastiest Kent mangos. These will arrive both by boar and air. The first airfreight arrival is scheduled for early this week," concludes Christiaan.
