EU makes exceptions in regulations for organic cultivation in case of catastrophes

EU countries may apply exceptions to the rules on organic farming due to climatic disasters, animal diseases or "catastrophes" in the new regulations for this type of production, which will come into force in 2022.

The Official Gazette of the EU published a regulation to regulate the exceptional rules for organic production, which must be established by the country affected.

This regulation completes the new regulation on organic food production and labeling, which will come into force on January 1, 2022 and whose application has been delayed one year by COVID-19.
