Change at the top for Gruppo Apofruit, a supplier of fruit and vegetables. The Italian cooperative’s board of directors has appointed Ernesto Fornari to the role of General Director of the group, which has its headquarters in Cesena and operates collection and handling facilities in various regions of Italy.
Aged 61 and from Romagna, Fornari has spent much of his career at various companies within the group. He offers solid experience and a deep understanding of how the production world operates, how the market works, and how to deal with the cooperative’s membership base.
As a member of the management board, for the past 23 years he has led Canova srl, the group’s commercial subsidiary specialising in the organic sector, which in 2019 generated revenue of more than 90 million euros.
