Apulian grapes from three different varieties, packed in a special long-term package for overseas sales.
"The video below shows the packaging on site of the grape Italia, which has the following characteristics: 22-23 mm grapes, with a light green color. The packaging is designed to last so as to avoid jeopardizing the seal of the product, which in this case is directed to Nigeria. Shipping time, in fact, is about 22-25 days and all the necessary precautions must be observed," said Claudio Romano, sales manager of the Romaneuro company, located in the province of Bari.
Other grapes also intended for Nigeria are Palieri and Red Globe XXL. However, the company is currently working with Quatar and India.
"The Nigerian buyer asked us for Palieri grapes of the appropriate color and grape size between 22 and 23 mm. But most of the demand was for our Red Globe XXL, which has large sized grapes of 26-28 mm and a red/pink color, as specifically requested," continued Romano.
The goods are processed in several stages. "We carry out our work early in the morning and finish by 9:30-10 at the latest. We do this to avoid the extreme temperature changes we have experienced in the last 40-50 days, with record-breaking heat."

Romano explained that the goods are transferred to the company's warehouse and this is where a gradual cooling process begins, so as to avoid the creation of condensation, which in some cases is detrimental to the bunches. "We ensure that the pulp reaches the temperature of 2 °C, and then we are ready to transport it. We store a few samples so that we can monitor the product until its arrival. This is a lucky year for us, based on the excellent grapes harvested so far."
