Around two hundred Serbian operators will take part in the next edition of Macfruit (Rimini, May 5th-7th 2020) and they have met with Luigi Bianchi (Cesena Fiera director) and Luciano Trentini.
"Serbia is located near Italy, so trade is only natural. We presented the fair to over fifty operators, but many more will take part in the fair. They produce peppers, potatoes, onions and carrots as well as apples ans soft fruit."
"In 2019, Serbian operators established contacts with a few Italian companies producing oranges. Many needed technologies for post-harvest storage and packaging. Serbia is a country that wants to grow and is looking for new business opportunities both in Europe and other emerging markets such as Asia, North Africa, Caucasus and China."
Serbia's leading production is plums destined to the drying industry (550,000 tons) followed by apples (370 thousand tons) and cherries (25,000 tons but with new orchards already in place). Strawberries and blueberries are also growing. Vojvodina is the leading producer region. Raspberries are a true resource for the country, is it is the global producer."
Credit Agricole is the mission partner and, together with Ice, another mission abroad is underway in Morocco. Cecilia Marzocchi attended on behalf of Cesena Fiera.
Four Italian companies attended the tour (A.G.M., Atlantic Man, Graziani, Infia) and over thirty Moroccan businesses attended the presentation. The mission also includes a visit to a few companies located near Agadir.
