Gecko Fruits shipping from South Africa and South America
Gecko Fruit is a new venture that is the result of a collaboration between two businesses in France that were already importing fruits into the country. Arnaud Fauchet, owner of Neta, which focuses on exotic fruit, and Richard Frowein, owner of RFW, which concentrates on fruit from the Southern Hemispheres. They decided to combine their efforts to form Gecko Fruits.
“Gecko fruits is really going to focus on seafreight fruits, especially on apples, pears, citrus, grapes, plums, mangoes, pineapples, avocadoes and bananas” said Richard Frowein. He added that, while France is not known as a hot destination among exporters, he thinks that sales of fruits are so good there, a new business is justified. With additional savings on logistics it also promises to make the venture a success.
“We have great synergy between the two companies,” said Frowein. “Because of that, we'll be able to reduce dramatically our costs on trucking, marketing, warehousing and banking, among other things.”
Gecko began operating out of their new offices on November 12th, and with six cold rooms and years of expertise between them, Frowein thinks they will do very well.
“We believe we'll satisfy our customers and suppliers” he said.
