Stolen banana packing equipment recovered

Detectives in the Western Australian town of Carnarvon have recovered $6,000 worth of packing equipment stolen from a banana shed last weekend.

The Sweeter Banana packing shed was broken into over the Easter long weekend, with thieves taking industrial scales and other agriculture tools.

Doriana Mangili, the business manager of Sweeter Banana, says she'll head down today to see what's been found.

"Hopefully we've recovered the bulk of it," she said.

"Unfortunately we have already replaced quite a lot of the stolen equipment, but obviously we'll be talking to our insurance company too and seeing how we sit with that.

"We hope we can get most of it back. That would be great news, and well done to the police for recovering it."

The equipment was found on a nearby plantation and police have charged a 22-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.
