Vietnam has received its first commercial shipment of fresh Australian blueberries following the recent approval granting market access. The consignment arrived on 5 December and marks a new stage in bilateral horticultural trade between the two countries.
The shipment was delivered through a collaboration involving The Berry Collective, Ti Produce Marketing, An Minh Fruits, and Berry Sweet in Western Australia. The fruit exported was the Echo variety, selected for the Vietnamese market. The arrival follows several years of technical assessment, coordinated industry work, and government-level engagement that supported the market access process.

Joshua McGuiness, CEO of The Berry Collective, said the development represents progress for the Australian blueberry sector and acknowledged the coordinated work among growers, exporters, and agencies. He noted that the shipment arrived in good condition and reflected efforts across the supply chain.
Australia's production timing enables blueberry harvests during periods of strong demand in Asia. Fruit for this initial shipment was selected and packed specifically for export to Vietnam.
Ti Produce Marketing highlighted the joint effort behind the export, stating that growers, technical teams, exporters, and government bodies contributed to meeting the requirements of the access protocol. The company described Vietnam as a growth market for imported fruit.
The Berry Collective and Ti Produce Marketing anticipate demand through December and early January as the program continues. McGuiness said the aim is to build a long-term position in the market through consistent supply.
Industry groups consider the development part of a broader effort to expand export options for Australian horticulture and support Australia's position as a supplier of fresh produce to Southeast Asia.
