Azerbaijan increases tomato exports, while pecan imports become more diverse

Azerbaijan increased tomato exports in 2025. Between January and October, the country exported 146,383.75 tonnes of tomatoes, 23.1% more than during the same period in 2024, according to the State Customs Committee. Export value rose by 12.6%, reaching USD 159.79 million. Tomatoes accounted for 0.74% of Azerbaijan's total exports, up from 0.62% a year earlier.

Azerbaijan continued to import small but increasingly diversified volumes of pecans. In January–September 2025, the country imported 2.5 tonnes of pecans worth USD 25,200, which is 5% more in value but 8% less in volume than in 2024.

China remained the leading supplier with 1.6 tonnes (+6.7%) worth USD 12,100 (+27%). The United States supplied 0.4 tonnes worth USD 6,400, although last year no shipments were recorded. Pakistan and India appeared as suppliers for the first time in at least 14 years, each delivering small volumes (0.1–0.2 tonnes). Germany increased its shipments to 0.2 tonnes (+90%) worth USD 2,300 (+55%).
