Azerbaijan recorded notable increases in several fruit and Almond export categories in January–August 2025, according to official trade data.
Almond exports reached 718.5 tonnes valued at $2.2 million, rising 2.7 times in volume and doubling in value compared with the same period of 2024. Russia imported 154 tonnes, up almost sixfold year-on-year, while Uzbekistan purchased 308 tonnes, more than twice last year's level. Turkey imported 126 tonnes, slightly higher in volume but lower in value. First shipments in over a decade were recorded to Italy, Georgia, and the Netherlands.
Cashew imports, which are reprocessed and partially re-exported by local traders, reached 282 tonnes, valued at $2.3 million, up 57% in value and 28% in volume. Vietnam remained the primary supplier with 229 tonnes, a 26% increase. Smaller shipments arrived from Ghana (25 tonnes) and Benin (11 tonnes) for the first time in more than 14 years, while Indian supplies dropped to 17 tonnes.
Azerbaijan exported 6,357 tonnes of plums and sloes worth $4.1 million, up 32% in quantity and 47% in value from 2024. Russia purchased 6,022 tonnes, a 31% increase. Exports to the UAE reached 114 tonnes, almost doubling. Kazakhstan's imports showed only minimal movement from last year. Small trial shipments were also sent to Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Moldova.
Quince exports reached 748 tonnes, valued at $802,000, an increase of 2.4–2.5 times compared to 2024. Russia accounted for nearly the entire volume at 744 tonnes, while sales to Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia remained marginal and fluctuated slightly.
