Egypt continues to expand its role as a supplier of fruits and vegetables to global markets, with more than 71,000 tons of fresh and processed produce exported in the last week of July 2025, according to the country's National Food Safety Authority, cited by EastFruit.
The data shows that Egypt shipped approximately 45,000 tons of vegetables and 26,000 tons of fruits to 170 international markets within this period.
In the vegetable category, beans led exports with 8,000 tons, followed by 7,000 tons of potatoes and 6,000 tons of mixed frozen vegetables. In total, 50 types of vegetables were exported during the week.
In the fruit category, strawberries were the main export at 10,000 tons, followed by mangoes and red grapes at around 5,000 tons each. Altogether, 30 types of fruits were shipped.
According to Daily News Egypt, the country's fruit and vegetable exports reached 71,000 tons in one week, shipped to 170 international markets. Sudan, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Russia were among the top importers.
