Shanley Farms announced that its Morro Bay Avocado program is back for the season. This domestically sourced program from the unique coastal microclimates of San Luis Obispo County runs for eight to ten weeks, from August to October, offering an opportunity for retailers to bring something special to customers during the peak of the season. These late-season avocados represent the final stretch of the California avocado season–a fit for retailers looking to extend their California avocado offerings.

The Morro Bay avocado program runs for eight to 10 weeks, from August to October.
The quality of the Morro Bay Avocados has caught the attention of major retailers, including Whole Foods, Lunds and Byerlys, New Seasons, and many others, who are eager to stock these premium avocados due to their flavor and consistency.
This season also marks new opportunities to broaden Morro Bay Avocados' brand recognition nationwide. Alongside a QVC airing this month with the potential to reach up to 80 million households, Shanley Farms has partnered with Pittman & Davis. Through these collaborations, Morro Bay Avocados will ship to the homes of customers nationwide. These initiatives are opening new doors for awareness and growth—benefiting the entire Morro Bay Avocado grower community. Bringing this success back to the grower community is the realization of a dream Jim Shanley had more than a decade ago when he first trademarked Morro Bay Avocados.

"Our Morro Bay Avocados are unmatched during this period," said Megan Shanley Warren, Shanley Farms owner and CEO. "The unique growing conditions in this region contribute to a flavor and creaminess that is truly unique. We are thrilled to see top-tier retailers recognizing the quality of our avocados and bringing them to their customers nationwide."
As merchandising displays are being built and product is rolling out across the country off the docks of Henry Avocado, the grower-shipper is actively sampling the 2025 crop as part of preparations for 2026 programs and placement into new markets.
