The Egyptian mango season is progressing quietly after a dynamic launch. The Egyptian mango market experienced a shift this week, leading to a price adjustment, according to Mohamed Shaker, export manager at Al Mansi.
The exporter says, "We are witnessing notable market shifts this week, with demand increasing in some destinations while easing in others compared to recent weeks. Jordan and Italy have shown a marked rise in demand, while Russia has seen a slight decline compared to previous weeks. On a year-over-year basis, both the UK and the European Union have recorded lower demand this season compared to last year."

The 2025 season is also marked by growing interest in local Egyptian varieties, according to several exporters. Shaker confirms: "Local varieties like Naomi mangoes are currently available in excellent sizes and high quality, making them highly competitive in active markets."
Relatively slow demand from the UK and European Union markets, where other varieties such as Kent are more popular, as well as lower demand from Russia, have caused prices to decrease this week, according to Shaker. He adds, "Prices for Egyptian mangoes have decreased this week. The average export price has eased to $1,000 EXW, down from $1,100 last week. Despite this dip, prices remain higher than those recorded in the previous season."
"These shifts in demand and pricing are normal and underscore the dynamic nature of the fresh fruit market and highlight the importance of continuous market monitoring to capture the best sales and marketing opportunities," Shaker concludes.
