Mixue Bingcheng invests in new lemon supply chain center to stabilize supply

In response to soaring lemon prices, Chinese beverage company Mixue Bingcheng is investing approximately 150 million yuan (about $20.6 million) to establish a new lemon supply chain centre in Anyue County, Sichuan Province. The project, officially signed on July 3, is set to span 18 months and will include a high-standard direct supply lemon base covering about 30,000 mu (roughly 2,000 hectares), alongside a cold chain storage and sorting facility with a 20,000-ton capacity, as reported by Guojiguoshu.

The initiative is a strategic move by Mixue Bingcheng to secure its lemon supply, which is essential for its top-selling product, "Fresh Ice Lemonade." The company currently sources nearly half of Anyue's lemon production, a region renowned for its yellow lemons. Due to a significant price spike, varieties tripling or quintupling in cost over the previous year, the investment aims to stabilise prices and ensure consistent quality and availability.

The supply chain centre will be operated by Snow King Agriculture (Sichuan) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Mixue Bingcheng. Once operational, it is expected to process more than 20,000 tons of fresh lemons annually, generating an estimated output value of 200 million yuan (around $27.5 million) per year.

This move comes as Mixue's lemonade sales continue to surge, with an estimated 1.3 to 1.4 billion cups expected to be sold in 2025, up from over 1 billion in previous years.
