Between January and May 2025, Azerbaijan imported 228,518 tonnes of fruits and vegetables worth $165.35 million, according to the State Customs Committee, as reported by Report.az. This marks a 7.8% increase in volume and a 14.6% rise in value compared to the same period in 2024.
Fruit and vegetable imports accounted for 1.7% of Azerbaijan's total import spending during these five months.
At the same time, Azerbaijan exported 291,393 tonnes of fruits and vegetables, generating $299.28 million in revenue. That's a 26.2% increase in volume and a 19.1% growth in export value compared to January–May 2024.
Fruits and vegetables made up 23.1% of the country's total export earnings over the reporting period.
