Philippine tomato, onion output up in Q1 2025

The Philippine Statistics Authority has released its first issue of a special report detailing the seasonally adjusted volume of tomato and onion production for the first quarter of 2025.

Tomato
Production for January to March 2025 reached 56.21 thousand metric tons, reflecting a 3.2 percent increase compared to the previous quarter's 54.46 thousand metric tons. The rise in production is attributed to seasonal factors that typically favor harvests during this period.

Onion
Production also posted growth, with a seasonally adjusted volume of 69.06 thousand metric tons for the first quarter of 2025. This marks a 7.2 percent increase from the 64.42 thousand metric tons recorded in the previous quarter.
