A new vegetable storage facility with a 2,500-tonne capacity has opened in Rodnikovskoye village, Osakarovka district, Karaganda region. The project, implemented by Eurasia Invest Ltd, is equipped with climate control systems to ensure long-term storage of potatoes and vegetables.
According to the regional Agriculture Department, the total investment was 850 million tenge (approx. $1.9 million), with 350 million tenge from company funds. The facility has created 10 permanent jobs and is intended to support regional food security and market stability.
The storage will also be used for socially significant food stocks under the regional stabilization fund, enabling year-round supply from local farms during off-season periods.
This launch follows a major irrigation project by the same company in 2024, which added 1,100 hectares of irrigated land, valued at 4.7 billion tenge.
In 2025, the Karaganda region plans to implement 24 agricultural projects worth 36.4 billion tenge (around $81 million), creating 330 jobs. Authorities emphasize cold storage infrastructure as key to reducing food losses and strengthening the agricultural supply chain.
