Chuadanga sets mango collection dates

The district administration in Chuadanga, Bangladesh, has outlined the timeline for mango collection by variety for the current season. This decision emerged from a meeting focused on 'Mango Collection and Market Management' at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.

The collection activities are set to commence on May 15, starting with the Gutti and Bombay mango varieties. Subsequent collection dates include Himsagar from May 22, Langra and Bari-4 from May 28, Amrapali from June 5, and Fazli from June 15.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahirul Islam emphasized that mangoes cannot be collected before their designated dates, and the use of harmful chemicals on mangoes is strictly forbidden. "Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates this instruction," he stated.

The district administration, in collaboration with the agriculture department and law enforcement agencies, will oversee the mango marketing process to ensure it remains safe and healthy. Enhanced market monitoring and supervision will be implemented at all levels.
