In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan recorded a 4.9% increase in vegetable exports to traditional international markets compared to the same period in 2024. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the country exported 42,100 tonnes of vegetables, generating $48 million in revenue.
Tomatoes remain Azerbaijan's top export in the vegetable category. Between January and March 2025, the country shipped 36,100 tonnes of tomatoes abroad—up 12.3% from the previous year, according to the State Customs Committee, as reported by Caliber.Az.
However, despite the increase in volume, the total value of tomato exports slightly declined by 1%, amounting to $44.57 million.
Exports of Azerbaijani agricultural products, particularly vegetables, are expected to continue as part of the government's strategy to strengthen the country's presence in foreign markets.
