Nearly 450,000 tons of citrus were imported to Novorossiysk, Russia in the first quarter

Novorossiysk has witnessed a significant influx of citrus fruits in the first quarter of 2024. According to recent reports from the maritime checkpoint, approximately 610,000 tons of quarantined products have been monitored upon entry into the Russian Federation's territory.

Fresh fruits dominated the bulk of the imported goods, totalling 483,000 tons. Among these, citrus fruits constituted the lion's share, amounting to 444,700 tons. Additionally, substantial quantities of grapes (11,200 tons), avocados (10,500 tons), pomegranates (9,900 tons), apples (4,200 tons), and pears (1,600 tons) were recorded.

In tandem with the influx of fruits, the import of fresh vegetables reached 51,000 tons, encompassing diverse varieties. Potatoes led the vegetable imports at 16,200 tons, followed by zucchinis (6,600 tons), bell peppers (6,600 tons), tomatoes (6,300 tons), radishes (6,000 tons), carrots (5,000 tons), and miscellaneous vegetables (4,261 tons).

Furthermore, authorities monitored the importation of dried fruits and vegetables, as well as nuts.
